Singapore Silat Federation was formed in 1976 and is registered with the Registry Of Societies. There are 22 affiliates and 34 Silat clubs that are active in Singapore. Silat is well-known in many countries outside South East Asia including Holland, Germany, Italy and Japan. Singapore Silat Federation organises different levels of competition that include competition at Club level, National Championship, International Open and World Championship. Silat is represented in SEA Games and aspires to be in Asian Games.
Pencak Silat
Pencak Silat is a martial art stemming in the majority from Malay & Indonesian heritage. It translates to "fighting by many techniques of self defence" and has four main components - mental spirit, art & culture, self defence and sport. The whole aspect is considered and all elements are paramount during competition. It can be practised purely for fitness, for aesthetics or with martial arts focus. The large variety of techniques that are deployed in Pencak Silat encapsulate its uniqueness.

PERSISI Anti-Doping Policy
PERSISI is committed to keeping sport in Singapore free from doping and has on 8 February 2011 established the PERSISI Anti-Doping Policy, thereby adopting Anti-Doping Singapore’s (ADS) Anti-Doping Rules as the PERSISI Anti-Doping Rules. These Anti-Doping Rules are established according to the World Anti-Doping Code. All affiliates, members, athletes, participants, staff and any other individual, paid or on a volunteer basis, who are under the jurisdiction of PERSIS are bound by the PERSISI Anti-Doping Rules and agree to abide by these Anti-Doping Rules.
