The establishment of the Singapore Silat Federation by Haji Ya'acob bin Mohamed (Kampong Ubi), Minister of State - from 1st July to 31st December, 1980 and registered with the Registry of Societies – ROS0138/76 registered on the 25th June 1976
Since then, there are currently 22 affiliates and 34 Silat clubs that are currently active in Singapore. There are about 15,000 Silat practitioners in Singapore ranging between 4-80 years old
Endorsed by the Ministry of Education as CCA in schools. Since then, schools such as Northland Primary and institution like NUS, NTU/NIE, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, MacPherson ITE, Bedok ITE, Balestier ITE, Simei ITE and Bishan ITE have encored this approval to conduct Silat lessons for students
Implementation of Singa Silat Programme in Silat Centre of Excellence (SCOE). There are now about 74 Singa Silat members of age group between 8-11 years
8th World Pencak Silat C’ship 2004 held for the first time in Singapore. The Singapore Team bagged 4 Gold, 4 Silver & 9 Bronze medals
