It's a Hole-In-1for Singapore Silat Federation!

It's a hole in one for Singapore Silat Federation (SSF)! Well, not really. But as far as the numbers game go, the Silat Charity Golf 2006 was a major success.

Held at the Seletar Country Club, the SSF surpassed its target of $100,000. The total figure is believed to be in excess of $100,000. Organised together with Yayasan Mendaki and Malay Members of Parliament, the event saw around 100 players from the various companies which donated generously. Some of the Malay MPs even took to the greens. Joining them was Guest Of Honour, Minister, Prime Minister's Office and Deputy Government Whip, Mr Lim Swee Say. And, boy did they had fun. The bright sunshine in Seletar certainly lifted the game of the players.

The money from the Silat Charity Golf would help pay off debts the Singapore Silat Federation owe for its Centre Of Excellence building in Bedok. The Centre of Excellence, which was opened officially in 2004, has helped facilitate training for all age-groups National Silat Teams from junior to senior levels.

Guest Of Honour,Mr Lim Swee Say, gracing the event
Among the players were Malay MPs, such as Mr Abdullah Tarmugi, second from right.

The players and our Guest of Hounour, Mr Lim Swee Say then convened to the ball room at the Seletar Country Club for a sumptious dinner. They were also treated to videos of SSF's milestones, which features never seen before footage and highlights of the golfers' game. The latter video certainly brought caught the eye of the diners as they could see themsleves playing including Mr Lim Swee Say. There was also a lucky for all our donors. The players certainly had a memorable day today.

We from Singapore Silat Federation would like to thank all our donors for making this event a success and helping us meet our target.
